This an accompaniment to this essay on Overland.

Each map in Overland presents the player with a clean-cut square of the world. Buildings show no sign of destruction at the site of dissection, just a precise vertical line. It emphasises the endlessness of the characters’ journey. Each stage is another block, another street, another highway. Similar to the last, but cut off from each other, removing the hope of a horizon line. Below is a small selection of images investigating Overland’s amputated topography.
